What You Will Learn

The relationship between teacher and student has always been a key element in the journey of yoga – hence the importance of individual tuition. Although most yoga teaching in the West is now done in groups, this training focuses on the traditional idea of the teacher-student relationship and the art of teaching individuals. We will therefore work on providing trainees with the skills to work with clients on an individual basis.
The appropriate application (viniyoga) of Yoga techniques can help to support us in our lives, assist us in recovery from various health conditions and move us towards greater wisdom and fulfilment. The skilful Yoga teacher can address the full spectrum of individual needs and interests, including working with specific therapeutic needs. This training will seek to provide the competences and versatility to achieve this.

Why do this Course

With the core faculty of Dave and Ranju we believe that this course is offering a unique combination of expertise that will provide a thorough grounding in the teachings of Krishnamacharya applicable to the modern teaching context, through a non-dogmatic and open approach.
This course represents a rare opportunity to take a course that presents a therapeutic approach based on a sound methodology of applying Yoga to individual circumstances. Most other Yoga therapy courses present a selection of often disparate and unconnected techniques to address specific particular conditions. We believe this approach is limited and fundamentally flawed. The application of Yoga to a specific individual and a particular condition should grow out of sound approach.
Completion of this course enables you to join the aYs register as a practitioner and also enables you to become accredited with the British Council for Yoga Therapy (BCYT)
